  2. Tom:

I have also been attempting to find out more about the work of Nellie Meadows since finding the red cardinal print I have. I like her work. Good luck with selling your paintings. You might want to advertise on ebay or some such auction site.

Best of luck to you. Neva

  3. I have a Nellie Meadows print “Kentucky The Great State” that has been in storage for years. It is the official painting of Kentucky Bicentinial and is signed by Nellie in two different places and by Wendell Ford, governor of Kentucky. It is in perfect condition. The lady who bought it new had kept it in storage. Can you tell me What it would be worth now? I will be waiting for an answer.
    Thank You Patricia Daugherty

  4. Patricia:

I do not know a lot about the value of the artwork of Nellie Meadows. I know that she was a very beloved artist in her community, that her artwork was often sold by her at prices judged to be below value by those who saw them. Art that Nellie sold for $70 or so was considered, even when she was alive, to be worth far more. There’s a good article about Nellie Meadows, which talks about how caring and kind a person she was here:

The fact that the art you have is also signed by a political figure should increase value as well but I really don’t know what the Kentucky the Great State print you have would be worth.

Nellie Meadows passed away in 2006.

  5. Hi there. I recently bought a Nellie Meadows cardinal painting that I love and I would be interested in purchasing the bluejay as well. If you have it, would you please let me know? Thank you.

  6. Tiffany: I don’t have the bluejay. Since I know you are looking for it, though, I’ll look for it too. You might want to subscribe to the art category (just register free and then subscribe) to be notified when I add new Nellie Meadows art. However, I expect her art may get a bit more scarce now that she has passed from the earth.

  7. Hello,
I have interest in purchasing the signed print that you have.
Also if you could put me in contact with Tom or put Tom in contact with me.
I may be interested in the prints he has as well.
To explain my interest - The woman I date lived in the area that Nellie Meadows lived in and loves her work.
So I am buying them for her.
    Thank You,
    Wapakwrench - Odes R.

  8. Hi, Wapakwrench:

I always delete people’s email addresses when they post, to avoid them getting spammed. I may still have Tom’s email from my own inbox. If so, I’ll send him your contact info.

I’ll email you separately on how to purchase the Nellie Meadows Cardinal I have.

    Thanks, Neva

  10. Thanks Lucy but I’m selling my collectibles business and not adding much in the way of inventory right now. I have a backlog of thousands of items I don’t even have listed yet so buying more just doesn’t make sense. I’ll leave your email in tact in case anyone else visiting the collectibles yardsale might have an interest in your Nellie Meadows print. Best of luck selling it. Nellie Meadows passed away recently and her work is increasing in value so I suspect you will have no trouble selling it.
